Description:Looking from the edge of Market Square along St. Martin's Place towards Martin Street, Stafford.

On the left is the front wall of the Grade II* listed building The Judge’s Chambers. On the right is The Chains Vaults public house, this later became Joxer Brady's and is currently known as The Market Vaults. There is a small sign above a doorway to the left of the bicycle which indicates the 'Smoke Room Entrance'.

On the right there is a partial sign on the corner of the building which refers to Chas. E. Morgan & Son (est. 1780) who had a nearby Wine Merchants business in Greengate Street, currently (2025) occupied by Waterstones. The car is thought to be a Ford 100E Popular (1959-62) or similar variant.
