Description:The Post Office at 27, Cheadle Road, Cheddleton. A car is parked outside and a horse-drawn delivery cart and driver stand to the right.

Arthur Shallcross opened his shop and became Sub-Postmaster at Cheddleton in the early 1920s. He had played for Leek Football Club and Leek Cricket Club and later became a Football League referee before being the secretary and manager of Stoke City Football Club between 1919 and 1923. He then took on Cheddleton Post Office and retired as postmaster in the mid-1940s. Cheddleton Post Office closed in about 2016.
