Description:A photograph taken at a dance held by the British Legion Pageant Committee at the Borough Hall, Stafford. Aspirants for the role of the 1952 Pageant Queen are pictured with judges and officials. From left to right: Councillor Bertram Sinkinson (judge), Mr R. Loveless, Miss Sylvia Poyser ('Miss Universal'), Mrs L. Everett (judge), Miss Pat Salt ('Miss B.R.C.'), Mr S. Woodward. Bertram Sinkinson, F.R.P.S., was a highly regarded professional photographer with a studio on Victoria Road, Stafford. He moved to Stafford in 1934 when he entered into partnership with Charles Fowke, having previously worked for Birmingham photographers H.J. Whitlock & Sons. He was President of the Royal Photographic Society between 1953 and 1955 and was made a Fellow of the society in 1955. He retired in 1976 and moved to Eastbourne.
