Description:This cottage was located opposite the flight of locks from Churchbridge near Cannock.

The Cannock Extension Canal was one of the last canals to be built. It was built between 1857 and 1863 by Biirmingham Canals Network. At 5.75 miles long, it ran from a junction between the Hatherton Branch of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal to Hednesford's coal mines. The area was lost to opencast mining in the 1960s.
