Description:A group of proud mothers in the Mayor's Parlour, Stafford, holding babies born in Stafford Borough on Coronation Day, June 2nd 1953. John Davies of Little Haywood is being held by the Mayor, Charles Jones. John's mother, Harriet, stands behind the baby's head. Behind the Mayor's other shoulder is Mrs Kathleen Locke of Rugeley, holding her baby girl, Lesley. The second mother and baby from the right is Mrs Joan Whitehouse of Hansdacre with son Peter James.
