Description:In the foreground is Bath Street with Harris and Son's off-licence on the corner with Earl Street.

On the left beyond the off-licence is the Police Station, at the end of the road is the rear of St. John’s Market and on the right is the Police Club. These buildings were demolished by 1984 to make way for the Guild Hall Shopping Centre. In the distance can be seen the Shire Hall (with flagpole) and the roof of the Borough Hall (now the Gatehouse Theatre).
