Description:Large female puppet. Betty Lipton, was a well attendant who dispensed the waters at harrogate for over 60 years, up to her death in 1843. Originally part of a troop from the Windmill Theatre, London, this large marionette was adapted to become Betty Lipton by Ted and Brenda Harold. This marionette forms part of the Hayward Puppet Collection, now part of the Staffordshire County Museum collection.
