Description:Henry Sproston's Coal merchants boat pictured at the wharf on the Trent & mersey canal, opposite the Star Inn, Stone. The gas works gasometer can be seen in the background - the site is now occupied by a car park and flats. Pictured are Henry Sproston and his family, together with Noah 'Boaty' Evans, who is standing on top of the pile of coal.
