Description:Oxen's had two chemists shops in Newcastle-under-Lyme from 1905 onwards. The original shop was in Bridge Street, however the shop in this photograph was the second shop that opened in 1905 on the High Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The fabulous painted advertisements on the brickwork were very eye-catching and provide examples of period remedies for nerves and asthma.
