Description:This aerial photograph shows Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre in 1967. Many of the major landmarks in the town can be picked out. The sunken roundabout to the bottom right of the photograph, Nelson place roundabout with its three fountains to the upper right. The Ironmarket and High Street can be traced on the photograph, cars still travelling down the lower part High Street. The Guildhall and Market Cross are also visible in the centre of the picture. The multi-storey car park is quite prominent as is St. Giles' Church on the A34. There is no Roebuck Centre on the photgraph and some of the teraced houses that are visible to the bottom left of the photograph have sice been demolished.
