Description:This photograph taken in the mid 1960s shows the rear of the Globe Hotel in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This hotel had been one of the most important coaching inns in its heyday when around about 40 coaches a day passed through the town. The hotel was demolished in the late 1960s to make way for the development of York Place shopping centre. This photograph captures the back yard of the hotel just before its demolition.
