Description:A view of St. Giles' Church in as it looked between 1721 and 1876. The Georgian style church was designed by William Smith. The classical nave and apse at the east end pictured here were demolished between 1873 and 1876 to make way for the Gothic revival style church designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott that still stands in Newcastle today.
