Description:Christ Church opened on Foregate Street in 1839. The church closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1983; sheltered housing for the elderly now stands on the site.

In the centre is William Albert Marson, a lay reader who held sermons in several churches within the Stafford area, including St. Matthew's at Derrington, St. John's in Littleworth and Brocton Mission Hall.

Marson also ran a grocery shop from the Ancient High House on Greengate Street, and the 'Old Curiosity Shop' on Albion Place, selling furniture, china and fancy goods.
