Description:The photograph was taken at a cadets’ party at Elkes Café in 1953. Back row standing left, Chris Tortoiseshell, standing far right, Ian Sampson, sitting, left with the big cup, John Hudson, centre Len Rammall (the cadets commanding officer) and right, with the smaller cup, Ken Wheat, who sadly was drowned in the Dove about a year later. Chris Tortoiseshell was presented with a Royal Humane Society award for attempting to save him. The cadets formed a guard of honour for Ken Wheat's funeral at St Mary’s Church, Uttoxeter.
