Description:Brooklands opened on Eccleshall Road in 1946 as a private school.
At first only a small number of five and six year olds were admitted, but the number of pupils increased and by 1962 126 children were on the school roll. In this year the building was extended and a new assembly hall built.
In this photograph are Stevie Brown, Phillip Stubbs (a farmer’s son), George Gosling (a Stafford butcher's son), Susan Blackburn (a painter and decorators daughter), the twins Michael and Malcolm Mansfield, and Helen Freeman, daughter of the gym teacher at the time.
