Description:A view of the Mansion, which stood on Mill Road, Cheadle. It was built in 1869 for colliery owner Robert Plant (1841-1902). It was demolished in 1978 and Mansion Close marks the site of the house. The grounds are now occupied by Tean Road Recreation Park.

Mr Desmond Brookes has kindly shared the following information:
"I lived at the Mansion house around 1963 or 1964. If you look at the front of the building, the window on the left side of the door was our front room. There was a wonderful snooker room upstairs, and also a piano in one of the other rooms upstairs which Velma, our next door neighbour, used to play beautifully."
