Description:The earliest part of the church, the chancel, dates from the twelfth century. Alterations to the fabric of the building continued over the years although the most significant work, executed in the Perpendicular style, took place in the later sixteenth/early seventeenth centuries. The west tower, with its elegant doorway is one of the main examples of this architectural style. Many of the wooden interior features date from Jacobean times, (1603-25) and are excellent examples of workmanship from this period. They include the pulpit, lectern and some of the box pews. The font, dating from 1875, is one of the most modern features of the building, being a modern copy of the one in Ashbourne Church.
