Description:Following Wordsley becoming a separate Ecclesiastical parish in 1830, the Rectory was built in 1835-6 by the architect Lewis Vulliamy, who also built the nearby Holy Trinity Church at this time. The Rectory was set in extensive 'pleasure' grounds. It was demolished in 1964.
In the foreground building work alongside bricks and a stack of pipes can be seen. The photographer noted that the Rectory was surrounded by houses. The site is now (2025) housing on Dunsley Drive, Rectory Fields. A smaller modern replacement Rectory was built nearby.
