Description:Thomas George Loton's grocers shop in Market Place, Abbots Bromley. Born in Cheadle in 1849, Thomas Loton inherited this grocer's shop from his father George Loton in the 1880s and ran it until his death in 1922. Pictured outside the front of the shop is Thomas's wife Mary Loton (nee Covill), born in Lincoln in 1844. Thomas Taswell (1895-1989) set up a cycle shop here in the mid 1920s. Taswell's also sold groceries and petrol and remained in the family until the death of Clifford Taswell (born 1922) in 2007.
