Description:This group photo was taken during an international meeting of the Tornado Transport Control Group (TTCG), hosted by No. 16 Maintenance Unit at RAF Stafford. In addition to the station commander (third seated from the left) and his staff officers, the attendees included Italian, German, and Spanish officers (the latter as observers), as well as a representative from the NETMA agency and the contracted freight forwarder.

Standing on the right-hand end is Captain Angelo Cusumano, an Italian liaison officer who played a key role in the creation of the Fauld Explosion memorial at Hanbury. The RAF Squadron Leader who invited Captain Cusumano to join the project can be seen standing in the back row, second RAF officer on the left.

The memorial stone itself was donated from Italy through the Italian Air Force Supply Depot at Novara, which was twinned with RAF Stafford. Captain (later Colonel) Cusumano was involved in the organization of the unveiling ceremony and other official events at RAF Stafford.

This image and information is kindly shared by permission of Colonel (Retd) Angelo Cusumano and the Cusumano family collection.
