Description:This photograph of Greyfriars, Stafford, was taken before the re-development of the area in 1974.

The photographer Dr. J.E.C. Peters left a note attached to the picture which implies that the end terrace house on the right with the Davenport's beer advertisement is No. 21 Greyfriars, which from around 1870 to 1909 was the Brown Horse Inn. The other sign advertises the Newport Road Service Station.
