Description:A painting by Bill Webster painted in April 2023 in L.S. Lowry's style, showing Longton in the 1950s.

The view is from Sutherland Road looking towards Landon Sreet (formerly Lower Hill Street). The bottle ovens in background belong to the pot banks in Uttoxeter Road (formerly High Street) including A.T. Finney's Duchess China Works and Chapman's Royal Standard China Works; and those in the adjacent streets of Barlow Street and Harber Street.

To the left in Barker Street were the Bluebell Pottery, Garfield Pottery, Sampson Smith's and Barker Brothers Pottery works. Paragon China Ltd and Aynsley's China Ltd were directly opposite Landon Street in Sutherland Road.

To the left of Landon Street were the pottery works of Hammersley China and the old Sidney Works of William Lowe (Court China). Both are still standing (in 2023) as are the former Aynsley China works on the opposite side of Sutherland Road.

Only part of the frontage of Paragon China remains in situ in 2023.
