Description:Samuel Thorley, groom at the Rectory, Cheddleton with his horse, accompanied by a cat. Samuel took over the tenancy around 1914-15 and stayed there until 1926 or 1928and at the same time was also gardener and groom for the Rev. George Philips, Rector of Checkley.
