Description:Windy Arbour, Cheadle Road, Cheddleton, was the home of John Milner and Mary Ann Milner (nee Clowes) and their family. Two of their children Thomas (born 1862) and Miriam (born 1865) are seated on the dry-stone wall either side of the door.
In the 1871 census John is listed as aged 44, landowner and farmer of 12½ acres, and Mary Ann was 35. All were born in Ipstones.
