Description:Annie Bromley, licencee of the Castle Inn on Eastgate Street, Stafford, pictured at the bar of the pub with her husband Cyril. She was licencee there from 16 August 1934. Born in Stafford, she lived in Leicester for many years before returning to her home town. She is pictured here shortly before her retirement which coincided with the closure of the Castle Inn on Sunday 12 February 1956. Soon afterwards it was demolished to make way for the Telephone Exchange building.
