Description:Mrs Watson was born in 1858, the daughter of William Challinor the lawyer, of Pickwood Hall. In 1881 she was recorded as living at home with her father, and their three servants. She married Charles Watson, a silk manufacturer, who originated from Foxton, Leicestershire in 1884. The Watson factory still stands on the corner of Brook Street and London Street. Mary Watson died in 1898, and
in St. Luke's Church the wooden chancel screen is a memorial dedicated to her and her father.
