Description:Mrs Flower, wife of Joseph Flower who built Portland House in Leek. Their children were Joseph Henry Flower (born 1862) who died aged 22 years of tuberculosis, Alfred Flower (born 1864) who had livery stables in Shoobridge Street Leek, Ada Flower (born 1866) who married and moved to Birmingham and Edgar Flower who remained in Leek and died there in 1943.

After Joseph's death Sarah married again in 1897, this time to a Railway Porter, William Lomas.
