Date:1790 - 1820 (c.)

Description:An late 18th or early 19th century pottery in or around Stoke-on-Trent. Finished ware is on the table to the lef and some saggars are leaning on the wall of the left hand building. In the middle of the single-storey buildings is the kiln. On the right hand side a worker is 'blunging' - working the liquid clay in a pit to remove grit and impurities to make the clay more workable.
