Description:The Placemate was a local nightspot. It opened in 1969 and later became known as Maxim's.

There has been a public house on the site since the 19th century, when it was called The Pomona Inn. Several pieces of 18th century pottery were found in the late 19th century and are now in the collections of the Brampton Museum. The building is now a restored heritage site.
