Description:Locomotive 42727 is pictured on a bridge over Derby Road, Burton-upon-Trent. On the right the large sign is advertising Esso petrol with the iconic 1960s slogan “Put a Tiger in Your Tank”. This photograph was taken looking south west along Derby Road close to the junction with Wetmore Lane. The railway bridge and embankment no longer exist, replaced by the Pirelli Stadium roundabout, but most of the houses still stand.

Over the years this British Rail locomotive often operated around the Liverpool and Manchester area. 42727 was withdrawn from service in January 1967 and scrapped during June 1967.
