Description:The old Police Station on Leonard Street, Leek.

This former County Police Station is a Grade II listed building dating from 1891-2, it was designed by local architects: the father and son practice of William and William Larner Sugden, whose works include the Nicholson Institute. It ceased to be a Police Station in 1987 when a new station opened in nearby Fountain Street. It is now (2025) residential apartments. The arched entrance on the left led to the stables building which is also Grade II Listed. On both sides of the archway were a pair of pedestrian access doorways, one of which has been bricked up.
