Description:Officials of the Cheadle Wesleyan Methodist Circuit and others pictured during centenary jmcelebrations outside the Methodist Chapel on Ashbourne Road, Whiston. The chapel pictured here was built in 1907 but the first primitive Methodist chapel in the village dated from 1836.

Standing on the front row, far left is Dorothy Finney-Elks who never married and lived in the village until her death in 1989 at 5 The Plain, Whiston.
