Description:John Kind set up a sawmill on the east side of Shobnall Street in 1882. It moved to the opposite side of the street in 1920 and was still there in 2000, specialising in wooden pallets and packing cases. The company moved to Portal Place, Astron Business Park, Hearthcote Road in Swadlincote in 2007 and now (2019) specialises in wooden doors. This Image is from a collection of photographs of Burton upon Trent commissioned and assembled by Burton upon Trent Civic Society as a record of the town in the year 2000.
