Description:A plaque commemorating Izaak Walton's reputed birthplace is mounted on the wall to the left of the entrance to the Police Station on Eastgate Street, Stafford. This building dates from around 1977, the plaque originally being mounted on a previous building on this site.

Izaak Walton was a famous angler and author whose best known work 'The Complete Angler' was published 1653 and is still in print.
