Date:1965

Description:Junction Service Station selling Mobil fuels was located on Newport Road at the junction with Station Road, Stafford.

From about 1939 the garage belonged to Mr E.H. Bunn. In 1945 he transferred his motor-cycle business, previously in Market Street. He was an agent for British made motorcycles, and for Morris, Wolsey and Reliant cars. When the family, who lived above the garage, moved out in the late 1950s a crane had to be used to hoist their piano through one of the windows on the first floor. By early 1965 the garage was owned by Austin Brothers. It has since been demolished.

On the left there is a gatepost by the street lamp, this was at the start of the road leading to the British Railways Stafford Goods Yard. Also on the left is a glimpse of King Edward VI Grammar School.
