Description:The three-storied house on the corner of Breadmarket Street is the birthplace of Dr Samuel Johnson and dates from about 1707 when it was the home and shop premises of his father Michael Johnson, a bookseller. It is timber-framed and Grade I listed. A museum since 1901 it now has again has a book shop on the ground floor.
