Description:Mr S. Mayer of Orslow Manor, near Church Eaton, Staffordshire.

Sydney Mayer was born at Warford, near Knutsford in Cheshire on 29 July 1891. In 1914 he married Bessie Worthington, but she died in 1924. In the 1920s he was farming at Rack House Farm at Northenden, near Manchester, but by 1934 he owned a horse stud at Orslow Manor, breeding Clydesdale and Shire horses. He died in 1981.
