Description:The former plateway stands out as a strip of cobbled road running alongside a metalled road. The Trent and Mersey Canal operated four different track ways to link between its canals. The Lane End Plateway was one of the longest of the plateway lines that linked various pottery firms at Lane End with the canal basin on Stoke.
