Description:Sgt 330 Peter Bartlam is pictured explaining the role of Traffic and Motorway Patrol Officers to visitors to the Open Day at the old Staffordshire Police Headquarters, Baswich, in August 1974.

The annual Force Open Days was a way of inviting members of the public to see behind the scenes of policing in Staffordshire and attracted hundreds of visitors. Displays took place on the grounds in front of the Headquarters provided by the Mounted Branch, Dog Branch, Traffic Division cars and motorcycles, other Emergency Services and Police Cadets. Static displays catered for children and adults alike.
