Description:In 1974, Sergeant 330 Peter Bartlam, based with the Southern Traffic Group in Lichfield, was responsible for introducing the use of a speed recording device, VASCAR (Visual Average Speed Computer and Recorder) into Staffordshire. The role included training Traffic Patrol Officers in its use and demonstrating its operation to Magistrates throughout the County.
