Description:In 1969, PC 29 Peter Bartlam, in the centre standing, a Traffic Patrol Officer stationed at Lichfield, qualified as an Advanced Driving Instructor.

Shortly afterwards Peter was transferred to the Force Motor Training Centre at Baswich House in the grounds of the old Police Headquarters on Cannock Road, Stafford, where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. At the time the Driving School held a 'Regional' status and trained police officers from Staffordshire, West Mercia (Shropshire and Worcestershire), Warwickshire and Coventry.
