Description:The Nestlé factory stands in Hatton, just on the Derbyshire side of the border with Staffordshire. This view shows the factory frontage on Marston Lane.

It was originally built in 1901 by the Nestlé Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. It processed milk from local farms, making use of the railway to bring in raw milk and deliver processed goods. The factory was extensively rebuilt and expanded in the 1950s and in 1959 began the instant coffee production which it now (in 2004) concentrates on.
