Date:15th of September 1897

Description:Opening ceremony of Stafford's sewage works, attended by the Mayor, Alderman Frederick Greatrex, seen on the front row.

The main sewers served most of the Borough and discharged into a reception tank at the Corporation Depot in Lammascote Road. The sewage was then pumped to the Purification works at Lammascote Farm.
