Description:Thomas Noon Talfourd (1795-1854), was a writer, judge, and politician. He was called to the bar in 1821 and was Member of Parliament for Reading as a Radical from 1835 to 1841 and 1847 to 1848.

He died in Court 1 in the Shire Hall, Stafford on 13 March 1854, after an apoplectic seizure in court while addressing the jury from his judge's seat. The following year this bust commemorating him was erected in the court where he died, sculpted by John Graham Lough.
