Description:Lady Bridge stradles the confluence of the rivers Anker and Tame. The original Lady Bridge was a wooden bridge and dated back to 1294. A statue of the Virgin Mary once stood in the middle of the bridge, and hence it became known as Lady Bridge. The medieval bridge was destroyed in the floods of 1795, and was replaced by the present bridge in around 1797.
