Description:The Grade II* listed building probably originally dating from the late 16th century, is timber infilled with brick and has a very large chimney which is twelve feet square and serves ten fireplaces. It is currently (2025) known as 'The Old Hall Country House'.
A horizontal beam above the ground-floor window bears an inscription on one gable which reads: '16 WALLK KNAVE WHAT LOOK EST AT 47 I S B'. The S in ISB is slightly raised. it is said to reference the bailiff at that time, John Sidway.
