Description:A pig killing at Burndhurst Mill, Lower Loxley, near Uttoxeter.
Joseph Fisher (standing second left) tenanted Burndhurst mill from about 1883 to 1908 when his son Allan Charles, standing behind the pig, took over until his death in 1915. Notice the carcase at the back is suspended with a pig-hanging stick or cantrell. Other men are holding pig scrapers.
Burndhurst Mill was built in the 18th century and is Grade II listed.
