Description:Located on the corner of Dilhorne Road and the A521, ‘Rosehill’ at 98, Town End is heavily screened by trees. Formerly a farm cottage called Primrose Hill, it was purchased by John M. Blagg, attorney, in 1814, who later enlarged and renamed it. By 1891 John Richard Beech Masefield, solicitor, was living here. He was a well-known naturalist and President of the North Staffordshire Field Club. It remained his home until his death in 1932.

This unstamped postcard was sent to Miss Aileen Masefield of Rosehill.

It was originally known as 'Primrose Hill' (information Mr John Williams).
