Description:Taken in 1913 this photograph shows the Guildhall and market place on the High Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The tall building facing the camera in the background on the righthand side of the picture is the old Police Station. Horse drawn carriages line the road on the righthand side of the picture in the foreground, they could possibly be waiting for residents of the Castle Hotel which is just out of shot to the right of the photograph.
