Description:A postcard photograph view of a group standing outside Mayo Cottage on Brazenhill Lane, Haughton. The house, now known as Mayo Farmhouse, has since been extended in length for a further two bays. At the time of the 1911 census this was the home of Ernest Merrick, a farm bailiff aged 30 and his wife Margaret, aged 45. They may be the two people to the left of the group in the photograph. He is holding an unbroken shotgun.
